The Little Girl Who Started It All

When people ask me how I became a photographer, they often assume it began with a camera, a business plan, or a photography class. The truth is much simpler.

It began with a little girl named Victoria.

Ten years after my husband and I were married, we welcomed our beautiful daughter into the world. Her arrival was one of the greatest blessings of our lives. Like many parents, I was completely in awe of her. I wanted to remember every tiny detail — her little fingers, her chubby cheeks, her curious expressions, and every milestone she would reach during her first years. More than anything, I wanted her to have beautiful photographs she could one day share with her own children and grandchildren. So I started taking pictures. Lots of pictures. As Victoria grew, I became increasingly interested in photography on a professional level.

Looking back now, those first photographs were far from perfect. The lighting wasn't always right. The compositions weren't always ideal. I was learning as I went. But even though those images don't reflect the quality of work I create today, they are priceless to me because they documented moments that can never be repeated.

And that's when I learned something important. A perfect photograph isn't just about technical skill. It's about preserving memories before they're gone.

When Victoria was born, I searched for a newborn photographer. I wanted someone experienced. Someone who understood newborn safety. Someone who could handle my baby with confidence and care. What surprised me was how difficult that was to find. Many photographers advertised newborn photography, but when I spoke with them, it often felt like newborns were simply another service added to their main wedding photography business. As a new mother, that didn't give me the peace of mind I was looking for. A newborn's neck and body are incredibly delicate during those first weeks of life. Safety was my highest priority. Choosing a newborn photographer should involve more than looking at beautiful images. Parents should also consider how much experience a photographer has handling babies, because experience often goes hand in hand with safety. I wanted to know my baby would be in knowledgeable, capable hands. After a long search, I never found the newborn photographer I was hoping for and because of that, I lost that precious newborn stage. I wasn't ready to create those photographs on my own until Victoria was about two months old when everything actually started.

Every expert was once a beginner. Every photographer was once a parent simply trying to hold onto a moment.

What started as a mother's desire to document her daughter quickly became something much bigger. The more I learned, the more I realized how much there was to know. Photography is not simply owning a camera and CLICK. It is understanding light, posing, composition, safety, editing, storytelling, and the ability to create an experience that families can trust. I knew that if I wanted to become truly good at it, I needed EDUCATION.

So I invested in workshops.

I studied.

I practiced.

I learned from experienced professionals.

I made mistakes.

I improved.

And I continued refining my craft.

Today, every maternity session, newborn session, sitter session, and cake smash I create can be traced back to one little girl who inspired me to pick up a camera for the very first time. Because of Victoria, I understand how precious these memories are. I photograph every baby as if those images were being created for my own child. Victoria may never fully realize how much she changed my life. But Picture Me Perfect exists because of her. She was my first model. My first inspiration. My greatest teacher. And she will always be the little girl who started it all.

Today, I am honored to create maternity, newborn, milestone, sitter, and cake smash portraits for families throughout Miami, Coral Gables, Kendall, South Miami, Doral, Miami Lakes, Miramar, Weston, Pembroke Pines, and surrounding South Florida communities, including The Ridges, Savanna, Silver Shores, Sunset Falls, Pembroke Shores, Isles at Weston, Silver Lakes, Monarch Lakes, Towngate, Westfork, Chapel Trail, West Miramar, and West Pembroke Pines.
